LIDL - Why not have a go at creating your own photobook using Lidl software. There is a Christmas offer on at present which means that you can get a 26 page, 8"x 8" booklet for £4.32 (incl. p&p). I've made one and the quality is pretty good considering. If you want to see it give me a call. - (offer lasts until the end of the year) - Dick

Our third Club competition was judged by Christine and Gordon Swalwell of Galashiels Camera Club. Gordon kindly attended our May meeting to explain his decisions. The membership present found his comments both revealing and welcome. Winners are shown below. It was agreed that our July meeting will be devoted to the printing and mounting of prints for the Festival Exhibition, and the OCTOBER meeting will be when we view all the 'REDUCTIONS' entries. (please note that 'REDUCTIONS' will now be in October, not September as previously stated.) |

The Borders Photographic Exhibition is a Border-wide competition organised by Selkirk Camera Club. It was originally organised by the first Kelso Camera Club before that club folded about 13 years ago. (There's a new one now!) This year four of our members submitted entries for 'projected images', John, Archer, Pete and Dick. Only Dick entered 'prints'. Dick was awarded 3th place in the general category with 'Trapped Leaf and also received a 'highly commended' for the landscape 'Cessford Swell'. |

Results for the second
club competition were announced at our Feb. meeting. The judge was Douglas
Hogg of Gordon, a reknowned artist in stained glass. For the first time the Institute was opened an hour earlier so that members, if they wished, could make use of the club's equipment or seek advice from more experienced members. A 'Macro' workshop occupied the second part of the meeting. . |

Questionaires were handed to members. The first club competition of the 2010-11 season had already been judged before Christmas but this was the firsy opportunity for members to see the results. | 13 December 2010 | December meeting has had to be postponed. The floor in one of the rooms in the Institute is being relaid - and the other room is needed for storage of materials. (It was hoped to use the Village Hall as a backup - but there's a problem there too!) A new date will be organised as soon as possible. |
