SET'98 Kaleidoscope Exhibition

MAINETTI MONSTER
This shows one of the three 2metre long kaleidoscopes we constructed for the show. The 'Monster' images were produced by two rotating frames covered with a variety of plastic carrier bags. On the right of the picture you can see a table top display of kaleidoscopes built by Jedburgh primary school pupils
at in-school workshops.

A FIELD OF LIGHT
Inside a Monster! Objects with reflective surfaces placed in strong light create a dazzling and magical design. This image is rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise. The millions of lights should be at the bottom - the end of the kaleidoscope nearest the viewer.

BOUQUET
One of the giant kaleidopscope was open both ends. The far end was supplied with places to hang old clothes etc. Children were encouraged to hang up thier display the run to the other end to see what they had created. This is a typical result.
