The new Learning and Teaching Scotland website now offers users
an integrated online service with access to a wide range of information
and resources for education in Scotland. The site consists of a
number of key areas which offer information and advice on national
education initiatives as well as classroom and teacher resources
to support all areas of the curriculum. You
can also find out about the work and remit of Learning and Teaching
Scotland and the range of products and services we provide. More

5-14 Online supports practitioners involved in the 5-14 curriculum
and in primary and early secondary education in general. You can
search and download ideas and materials for teaching by subject

HISTORIC SCOTLAND.
Historic Scotland is an Agency
within the Scottish Executive Education Department and is directly
responsible to Scottish Ministers for safeguarding the nation's built
heritage, and promoting its understanding and enjoyment.
It has an active Education Service
which supports Scottish schools.
Rude Mechanicals has produced teaching materials
for Historic Scotland. We have designed an abbey model, built in card,
and developed a pack of worksheets which explore various siege engines.

EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL
SCIENCE FESTIVAL
Scotland's biggest science festival.
We have been involved with EISF for the past two years, running
workshops for the public during the Festival and visiting schools
before the Festival as part of EISF Outreach. The Festival is held
each year in early April. If you intend visiting EISF in 2002 remember

is a Local Authority site intended for schools within the English
County of Northumberland. The site covers a wide range of curricular

SSERC - SCOTTISH SCHOOLS EQUIPMENT
RESEARCH CENTRE SSERC
is based at Moray House in Edinburgh. They produce a newsletter and,
best of all, have a shop where they sell goodies like switches, electric
motors, etc. at very reasonable prices (If you're a Scottish School!)
They even sell an 'Onager' kit which VERY closely resembles a Rude
